Our good friend Caitlyn broke her leg last week while jumping on the trampoline. She was in the hospital for a day and a half before she came home and has been on bed rest for a few days. She can't use her loft bed anymore, so she has been staying in the guest bedroom at her house. Me and Nicki decided we should visit her one day after school. Caroline couldn't make it because she had yet another driving lesson.
Nicki and I stopped at our local CVS to purchase a beanie baby gift for her (we got the unicorn because it was purple, Caitlyn's favorite color) and picked her up some of her favorite frozen yogurt as well.
Once we got there, Caitlyn immediately greeted us. She was watching her favorite show on TV. We did find out that she had PINK crutches! She says her doctor's office had them. She wanted them in purple, but they were all out of that. Then we got to sign her cast. There were a few signatures we didn't recognize, like one from someone named Thalia Summers. Caitlyn said she was looking to move to Hillrise and that she loved the fifties. From the sounds of it, Thalia is looking forward to living in Hillrise! I mean, who wouldn't anyways? It's Hillrise!!
Nicki got some time to talk to Caitlyn, too. At one time, Nicki and Caitlyn were very close. They still are, but Nicki has been busy with her own things. She gave Caitlyn some advice on high school and everything. She was very upset that she didn't get invited to any after parties during the vice versa dance, but Nicki re-assured her that you don't have to be invited to anything for every dance. We weren't invited on anything last year.
I got some time with Caitlyn as well. She was exhausted because she has had a hard time sleeping on her new cast. She told me her family is helping her recover, though. Did you know her mom bought her a 5-pound gummy bear plus a rare picture of Hillrise as a get-well present? It really is awesome having Julie Albright as your mom. Honestly, her mom has taught me everything I need to know about Hillrise. She even said that the original kitchens were color-harmonized! Hers back in the sixties was avocado-green. I saw a picture of it and I seriously want the same color kitchen appliances for my future Hillrise Home. Her mom is so awesome when it comes to Hillrise! She took me around and taught me all about it when I was a kid. It is honestly so cool!
Before we left, we ate some of her gummy bear, talked about happenings around school and Hillrise, and then we took funny pictures on her laptop.
Get well soon, Caitlyn!
